2025 Government in Action
Youth Tour Contest

June 15-25, 2025

About the Contest

Each year, GCEC selects a participant for the Texas Electric Cooperatives Government in Action Youth Tour, an immersive trip to the nation’s capital. Students meet their Legislators, tour historic sites, and gain insights into history, government, and electric cooperatives. Past participants say the most memorable part of the experience is the lasting friendships they build with other exceptional young people from across Texas.

We pay travel expenses ($4,175) including meals and lodging. Winners only pay for snacks, souvenirs and personal items.
